Things are getting busy for me once again, but I wanted to make sure that I didn’t disappear completely (which, is my general M.O.). Therefore, I’m making a concerted effort to stay present. This will take the form of relatively short (but hopefully fun) posts until I’m able to return with more detailed write ups. So, for the next couple of weeks expect me to share some trailers, and write up a few (short) reviews of the movies I watched during my previous hiatuses (keep an eye out for The Pretty Thing that Lives in the House, XX, Don’t Breathe, and more).
First up, I wanted to share a preview that a friend sent my way a couple of weeks back. If you’re a regular follower of my blog, I’m sure you’re aware of my love of all things Guillermo del Toro (I’m still super bummed that we never got his take on the Hobbit)… okay, almost all things (I still can’t seem to get behind Pacific Rim, as much as I want to (and, I know plenty of people who love it, so I’m sure I’m just missing something). All of his movies somehow find a way to blend together fairy tales and horror. (The Devil’s Backbone, Pan’s Labyrinth, and Hellboy II, in particular). His newest film, The Shape of Water, coming out later this year, seems no different. I’m very, very excited. Watch the trailer above and let me know what you think!
