If this blog was a horror movie franchise, I think it would somewhere near the fourth or fifth chapter (I’m going with “chapter” to sound super classy… hey, it worked for Insidious (ok, maybe it didn’t work for Insidious (see my write up of the first three chapters of that movie franchise from last year (also, who missed my incessant use of parentheses (rhetorical question, please keep your emails regarding it to yourselves (or send them… I’d be happy to get emails… even if they’re telling me to stop)))))). I know I’ve had a couple of false-starts since the end of last summer, but this time, I swear, I’m truly back. I can’t promise you that I’ll post every single day, but you can expect at least a few posts a week… hopefully, two or three write-ups of movies. Also, I’ll probably disappear for at least a few weeks in August… those of you who know me personally or have been close readers of the blog, will know that I have something (at least slightly) more important than a blog planned for that month!
I had debated whether or not I brining the blog back. As you may remember (no worries if you don’t, it was over a year ago), I’m a professor and I like to use my summers to do something creative. Two summers ago I wrote a movie (still planning on making it… coming soon (2020… maybe)), and last summer I started the blog. Over the past year I’ve had a couple ideas for a few movies… one’s kind of an old-school haunting movie (which is funny if you’ve read this blog and paid attention to my feelings about this sub-genre (here, I’ll save you the trouble: I generally hate them)); the other is called The Slideshow Man, and is based on a single sentence that my future grandmother-in-law said last Christmas. In the end though, I think these ideas need to percolate a bit more before I put (virtual) pen to (virtual) paper… so, it looks like you’re stuck with me for at least a bit longer.
That’s all for today… time to go watch a movie.
See you tomorrow!
P.S. I’m assuming it will take some time to for all of you to find me again. Might I suggest subscribing to my blog. You’ll get an email every time I post something (and since I post once a day, at most, your inbox won’t be flooded).
P.P.S. Don’t hesitate to comment on my posts. I love interacting with you all!
Hooray and welcome back!
