I played several games of Netflix Roulette this week. All-in-all, I ended up watching four films:
- Alyce Kills (2011)
- Cabin Fever: Patient Zero (2014)
- Here Comes the Devil (2012)
- The Taking of Deborah Logan (2014)
Apart from one (really big) miss, most of the films weren’t too bad… therefore, I’ll say it was a good week:
- Worth Seeking Out (i.e. Worth Paying For): unfortunately, nothing really broke through to this level, though a couple were close.
- Worth Watching via Free Streaming: Here Comes the Devil (2012), and The Taking of Deborah Logan (2014)
- Worth Watching on an International Flight or While Doing Work: Alyce Kills (2011)
- Worth Avoiding and Doing Something Better with Your Time: Cabin Fever: Patient Zero (2014)
Three of the movies I watched this week made it onto my cumulative top-ten list… which, is pretty exciting. It’s starting to come together nicely… though, I still wouldn’t watch the last one the list (Donner Pass)… give it a couple more weeks and it should be pretty strong:
- Housebound
- Starry Eyes
- The House at the End of Time
- Here Comes the Devil
- The Taking of Deborah Logan
- The Canal
- Neverlake
- Alyce Kills
- Bad Milo!
- Donner Pass
Next week should be a full week… baring any unscheduled events I should have at least five full posts (possibly six, depending on how motivated I am on Tuesday). The only thing I have planned for definite is that I’ll be seeing The Gallows tomorrow night with a friend, so expect a full write up on Tuesday. I’m trying not to go into it with any preconceived notions… but, since I’m dreading it, I guess I’m failing at my goal. Also, I’m trying to figure out which classic horror movies to revisit. I had a lot of fun with the holy trinity of slasher films (I’m still thinking I’ll do Psycho) but it’s time to move on. At first, I was considering the Evil Dead series, but then thought that it would be better to save them for right before the premier of the new series… so, I’m at a lost… I could always just flip through my DVD binders, but I’m also open to suggestions. See you tomorrow! me
