Third times a charm?
So, let’s end this weird with a Weekly Roundup post. As I mentioned a few posts ago, I realized I forgot to do a weekly roundup last week. Therefore, this post will cover both weeks three and four. Over the past fourteen days I watched seven movies:
Of these seven movies I would only give one a hard pass (Haunt)… though, that doesn’t mean the rest were amazing… in fact, I think most fall into the second to last category:
I’ll be back tomorrow with a new (full post). I have a bit of work to get caught up with next week… I’ve been putting this stuff off for way too long, so it may be a somewhat light week for movie watching… though, I will try to at least get a few Random Thoughts and Trailer posts up when I’m not able to watch a movie. The only solid plan for next week is that I’ll be watching The Exorcist with a group of people on Tuesday night… one member of this group claims to have never seen a horror movie… so, that should be interesting…
That’s all for now… until tomorrow…

Two weeks down and I haven’t gone crazy… yet. This week I watched six movies (which surprised me since I didn’t get started until Wednesday):
Of these six movies I would only give one a hard pass (Human Centipede III (Final Segment)… not sure if that was another Human Centipede pun… if so, I pray it’s the last). As for the others, here’s how I rate them:
I’ll be back tomorrow with a new (full post). Most of next week will probably be a mix of rounds of Netflix Roulette and revisiting a few classics. I really enjoyed the watching The Texas Chainsaw Massacre this week, and if Netflix keeps choosing haunted-house movies for me, I may need to cleanse my pallet with a few other classic slasher films (maybe Halloween and/or Friday the 13th). I also really want to see the half-documentary The Nightmare (I loved Rodney Ascher’s last movie, Room 237, which was weirdly frightening, even though it was only about wacky theories surrounding The Shining)… so, maybe I’ll try to seek that out later in the week…
That’s all for now… until tomorrow…

I’m one week into this crazy experiment and it seems to be going well. All told, I watched six movies:
Of these six movies I would only give one a hard pass (Devil’s Pass… no pun intended). As for the other five, here’s where I rate them:
I’m not sure what next week holds for me and, as I mentioned yesterday, I’ll probably be a bit light on movie watching for the next couple of days. However, later in the week I’m sure I’ll play a few more rounds of Netflix Roulette (even Devil’s Pass couldn’t scare me away), I’m thinking I might revisit The Texas Chainsaw Massacre, and I may do a marathon of the Insidious movies. I’ll hopefully be doing the last one with a friend of mine, who, in general, is more forgiving of horror movies than I am. She thoroughly enjoyed the first Insidious, while I was less impressed… but more on that next week.
Lingering thought: The more I reflect on The House at the End of Time the more I think about The Orphanage. I had this feeling about halfway through watching the movie, but I didn’t include it in my original post because I thought it may be a bit reductionist. In other words, I was afraid that I was comparing the two simply because they were from Spanish speaking countries. Now, though, the more I think back on the film I feel that there are some legitimate parallels. I can’t really say what they are as they would give away key plot points (of both films), but if any of you have seen both I like to get your thoughts on this… am I crazy (not in general, because I already know I am, but crazy for seeing similarities between these two movies)?
That’s all for now. Until next week.
